Wordfast
Wordfast provides user-friendly and affordable Translation Memory (TM) tools designed to optimize the workflow and budget of translators.
Our verdict
Who it's for
Platform-independent Translation Memory technology for enhanced productivity and quality.
Who should look elsewhere
Native PDF source-file translation is restricted to Windows, so translators working on Mac or Linux cannot process PDF documents in Wordfast Pro.
Pros
- +Affordable compared to competing tools
- +Increases translator productivity
- +Improves translation quality
- +Reduces translation costs
- +Supports brand consistency across languages
Cons
- −Native PDF source-file translation is restricted to Windows, so translators working on Mac or Linux cannot process PDF documents in Wordfast Pro.
- −Wordfast dropped Intel Mac support from macOS Sonoma onward and warns it cannot guarantee the Mac app will keep functioning on macOS 27 and 28 as Apple retires Rosetta, a genuine platform-durability risk for Mac-based translators.
- −Wordfast Pro is a desktop-only application with no mobile app, so you cannot translate or review projects from a phone or tablet.
- −The free demo version is capped at bilingual projects only, so you cannot properly evaluate multilingual workflows before committing to a paid license.
